Implantable Contact Lens (ICL)

Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL) are micro lenses placed inside the eye during a brief outpatient procedure by Dr. Tekwani. Rather than changing the shape of the cornea as in LASIK eye surgery, ICLs are placed inside the eye to enhance the focusing abilities of the eye’s natural lens, providing excellent quality of vision for a wide range of vision correction.

ICLs can help severely nearsighted patients reduce their dependency on thick glasses and contacts. ICLs may be a good solution for people who aren’t candidates for LASIK based on their level of refractive error, and they may be a good option for those who have thin corneas as well. ICLs are designed to be a solution for moderate to severe nearsightedness.
